Lee Petro

Lee G. Petro is of counsel to the firm’s Telecommunications & Mass Media Team in the Government & Regulatory Affairs Practice Group.

Lee focuses his practice on representing broadcasters and wireless service providers before the FCC. He has represented television clients in rolling out their digital television service, and has worked on the cutting edge of moving radio clients to fixed wireless broadband service providers — helping clients in New Mexico and Alaska lead the transition to twoway broadband service. He also has worked with BRS and EBS clients with regard to excess capacity leasing matters and related transactions and has represented clients in FM reallotment proceedings, frequency coordination negotiations and interference reduction agreements.

Lee also prosecutes trademark applications before the Patent and Trademark Office on behalf of his telecommunications clients, and has represented clients before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice relating to merger and acquisition issues.

Lee is an active member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and its nonprofit charitable and educational organization, the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation. He has served on the Board of Trustees and as chair of the FCBA Foundation and cochair of several FCBA committees, including the Constitution and Bylaws Committee and Continuing Legal Education Committee, during his career.

During law school, Lee served as editor-in-chief of CommLaw Conspectus, The Journal of Communications and Law Policy, and was the cofounder and editor-in-chief of dicta…, The Columbus School of Law Student Magazine.
