James Major

James R. Major, D.Phil. is a patent agent on the Patent team of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Prior to joining Drinker, James was a patent agent focusing on prosecuting biotechnology and small molecule patent applications while attending law school.

James earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School where he was a staff editor of the New York Law School Law Review.  He received his D.Phil. in immunology and virology from the University of Oxford and his B.A. in Natural Sciences (pathology) with concentrations in biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, and cellular pathology from the University of Cambridge.

James is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and his New York Bar admission is pending.  District of Columbia Bar application pending; practice supervised by partners of the firm who are active D.C. Bar members pursuant to D.C. Bar Rule 49(c)(8).
