Austria researchers successfully grow mini brains using stem cells

Scientists in Austria have successfully grown the first “cerebral organoids,” or mini brains from human stem cells.  This is the first time that scientists have been able to replicate the development of brain tissue in three dimensions.  This development shows promise for future use in modeling mental disorders through the use of the mini brains, to develop new treatments.
