NIH releases draft genomic data sharing policy

On September 27, 2013, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a draft Genomic Data Sharing (GDS) Policy.  The draft policy addresses the sharing of large-scale human and non-human genomic data generated from NIH-supported and NIH-conducted research.  The draft policy describes the responsibilities of investigators and institutions for the submission of non-human and human genomic data to the NIH and the use of controlled-access data.  The NIH is seeking comments on the draft policy by November 20, 2013.
