China issues revised requirements on pharmaceutical wholesalers and retailers

China’s Ministry of Health has released revised requirements on pharmaceutical wholesalers and retailers in China.  The revised “Good Supply Practice of Pharmaceutical Products” provides that a detailed implementation plan for the new standards shall be formulated by China’s State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA).  A compliance deadline of December 31, 2014 is in place for wholesale enterprises entrusted with drug storage and distribution of the following pharmaceutical products:

  • Vaccines
  • Narcotic drugs
  • Psychotropic substances
  • Anabolic agents
  • Peptide hormones
